Things I can help you with

When buying or selling property, don't forget that the conveyancing process is quite dissimilar to that of other countries. I can help explain the details and make changes to the contract.

The completion, or acte de vente, requires a meeting between vendors, purchasers and the notaire. All parties must understand what is being said, I will interpret at the meeting for you.

Home extensions and renovations can need full planning permission or simply a declaration of works. I can liaise with the local council on your behalf, or engage an Architect for you.

* A French Architect can be mandatory for certain works, others you can plan yourself.
You may also like to check the status of your chosen builder.

A simple telephone call to a French person or company can unblock countless pathways to your goal.
Your first call by me is completely FREE and without obligation.
Just provide the details and I'll make the call on your behalf.

Many people write letters in French using computer translation or simply use a dictionary and some school French. This can work fine, but what about the letter that comes in reply? I can promptly provide a translation of any correspondence you have received, and produce professionally written and unambiguous letters in response.

I will verbally interpret a conversation, either from French to English or vice-versa, but I will only guarantee document translations from French to English. I can easily arrange English to French translations, but for legal reasons this should be done by a native French speaker.

Health cover is not based on residence, as in the UK for example. Temporary health insurance is usually available from your country of origin. France has an excellent health system, but the administration of it can leave the individual somewhat bewildered.
I can check your entitlement to state health cover and make all the arrangements to provide you with a carte vital, or health card.

Starting a business in France is part of the dream for many. However, self-employment laws in France are strict and you must register before you start trading.
There is more than one establishment for this and the choice depends on your activity.
A SIRET number is only granted with the correct paperwork and often by completing a training course in business management.

How you manage your money can be the most important aspect of a successful life in another country. I can negotiate for you with the French financial organisation of your choice, however I do not offer any financial services directly.

Get the right information before you commit yourselves.
